Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Product

Single sided colour through is the most traditional print. Ink is applied to one side of the flag material, the reverse side of the flag gets approximately 70-90% of the colour intensity of the front. Please note that the image will be Reversed on the rear side of the flag.

Double sided print requires 2 flags to be printed, one for the front and one for the back. These 2 flags are then sewn together. Often block-out materials are used to stop light from disturbing the reverse images. There may also be further light blocking materials placed between the front flag and the reverse flag. This print method results in a heavier flag overall.

Polyester knitted fabric is a Medium weighted fabric with high surface sheen. Suitable for screen print, and digital printed flags. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor display.

Poly Woven is a heavy duty woven fabric with low surface sheen, perfect for windy conditions or continuous use, Superior grade specialist flag fabric.

Most commonly we screen print flags or use a modern digital CMYK print method. Methods can vary depending on the job requirements. If you are not sure please ask.

For a longer life bring your flag in at night, this would double the life expectancy of the flag. Due to extreme weather conditions throughout the country we cannot guarantee longevity. Some customers will have 10 to 12 months out of their flag and others will have years out of their flag depending on the flying/hanging location.

The measurement of the long side of the flag should be approximately 1/4 to 1/3 the height of the vertical, ground set pole. For example, a 5 to 6 meter above ground pole would require an 1800mm X 900mm flag. Recommended flag fabric for upright poles is polyester for extremely windy locations.

Dye-sublimation is a technique of transferring colours using heat. Use of dye-sublimation produces brilliant, bright, long-lasting colours! To cope with New Zealand’s harsh climatic conditions and high UV light levels we source the best quality specialist fabrics, dyes available from around the world.

It is important for you to understand that any image can be made from very small files as long as the resolution is high + 300dpi. Without high resolution the image becomes blurry and the pixels begin to show as the image is resized. Vector images are the best; they are created in illustration and drawing applications such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw. Vector images, picture elements are defined mathematically as lines or curves and can have solid, gradient or patterned colour fills. So when you resize the image it does not cause any pixilation. Please submit files in Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .eps or .pdf), Photoshop (.psd) or CorelDraw (.cdr) format. Images should be supplied at 300dpi at 10% of the actual size (if emailing)All colours must be specified as PMS Coated values (percentage of PMS colours should be avoided)
